Is there a limit to the number of fields a type can have?

We plan to use MetadataTransformer to create fields on a type dynamically. The type will be a Postgres type. Fields created will be persisted. Is there a limit to how many persisted fields I can have on a Postgres type?

A type fields are mapped to Postgres columns and technically Postgres can have up 1600 columns

@bachr the type system doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with postgres and as far as i know does not impose any limit on the number of fields (you could imagine the typesystem automatically splitting a type across 2 tables, for example).

If having too many fields causes an error this would likely be considered a platform bug

Is this reproducible? If so, create a branch and a ticket with instructions on how to reproduce it and I’ll investigate.
