How to convert a string to a reference field in a stored calc

I want to turn meta.updatedBy to a User reference in a stored calc, but I’m not sure how to write an expression.

I tried all the options I could think of, but none works

updatedUser1: User stored calc 'meta.updatedBy'

updatedUser2: User stored calc '{id: "meta.updatedBy"}'
updatedUser11: User stored calc '{id: \"meta.updatedBy\"}'
updatedUser5: User stored calc '{"id": "meta.updatedBy"}'
updatedUser8: User stored calc '{"id": meta.updatedBy}'
updatedUser12: User stored calc '{\"id\": meta.updatedBy}'
updatedUser9: User stored calc '{\"id\": "meta.updatedBy"}'
updatedUser10: User stored calc '{\"id\": \"meta.updatedBy\"}'
updatedUser13: User stored calc '{\'id\': meta.updatedBy}'
updatedUser14: User stored calc '{\'id\': "meta.updatedBy"}'
updatedUser15: User stored calc '{\'id\': \"meta.updatedBy\"}'
updatedUser16: User stored calc '{\'id\': \'meta.updatedBy\'}'

updatedUser4: User stored calc "{id: \"meta.updatedBy\"}"
updatedUser6: User stored calc "{id: meta.updatedBy}"
updatedUser17: User stored calc "{id: 'meta.updatedBy'}"
updatedUser18: User stored calc "{id: \'meta.updatedBy\'}"
updatedUser19: User stored calc "{'id': \"meta.updatedBy\"}"
updatedUser20: User stored calc "{'id': 'meta.updatedBy'}"
updatedUser21: User stored calc "{'id': \'meta.updatedBy\'}"
updatedUser22: User stored calc "{'id': meta.updatedBy}"
updatedUser23: User stored calc "{\"id\": \"meta.updatedBy\"}"
updatedUser24: User stored calc "{\"id\": 'meta.updatedBy'}"
updatedUser25: User stored calc "{\"id\": \'meta.updatedBy\'}"
updatedUser26: User stored calc "{\"id\": meta.updatedBy}"

Is there a way to turn string into reference through a stored calc?

Did you try:

updatedUser2: User stored calc "{id: meta.updatedBy}"

or

updatedUser2: User stored calc "{'id': meta.updatedBy}"

?

@ColumbusL Neither options work

bus options should work! are you getting in errors??

related

@bachr No error in any queues, the stored calc field is empty after refreshing calc fields.

"{id: meta.updatedBy}" should definitely work!!
may be you don’t have data in meta.updatedBy?? also is meta.updatedBy a string or a User object?

I couldn’t get stored calc to work at the end. But I found out I can create a foreign key instead.

updater: User (id, meta.updatedBy)
